The Story Behind Our Symbol

Every element of the Kanaʻina Kollective artwork was chosen with intention.

The two hibiscus flowers represent my mother and father—the roots from which our family continues to grow.

The eight honu represent myself, my sisters, and my brother, whose memory remains forever woven into our family’s journey.

Together they remind us that heritage is carried not only through the places we come from, but through the people we love, the memories we cherish, and the stories we continue to tell.

For us, they are a daily reminder that family remains connected, no matter where life leads us.
